I'm a tired teacher just like you; fighting to balance the importance of my own life with the fun and high level of education I want to give my students.
I hope these resources save you time so you can focus on the important things in life.

Such a fun lesson! As art of teaching microhabitats my class and I created one large bug hotel in our garden area, it could also be done in any forest area nearby, but the closer the better as you can visit and investigate the bugs and which environment they’re most drawn too.
Included is a brief powerpoint encouraging the children with ideas of what it may look like and natural environments for different types of insects. I would send the parental letter out a week or two before so they can help out with the items needed.
Enjoy!
In fact there are 2 slightly different version of the traditional stations of the cross assembly celebrated in church school. This includes a powerpoint, reflections and responses for those in the assembly.
Hope it saves you some time!
This includes a lesson graded ‘outstanding’ during our school Ofsted visit and is aimed at Nursery or Reception children. It includes a detailed lesson plan with youtube links and instructions on how to link table top activities to the theme.
The lesson details Teaching Standards it meets and strands such as ‘understanding the world’ in the EYFS.
The carpet activity is 2 children at a time (completed over 2-3 days). Play dough, straw and Lego bricks. Try and build a structure and test which is strongest. Use hairdryer to illustrate effect of wind and blowing. (In line with weather theme of the week). This will also clarify tomorrows story ‘The 3 little pigs’, and help them understand why two of the pigs houses have blown down. The story will be a theme during the whole week and presented differently each day to try and reach all types of learners and needs required by the pupils. Individual assessment conducted as activity occurs.
Top tip, be sure to pause and narrate/ask questions during youtube clips so children are forced to think more.
Enjoy!
Differentiated writing task on what role you want to have when you grow up. I've used this as a homework, literacy and IPC task. A great into for a new class or for an intro into a topic about different jobs.
Assembly script based on the ‘Twas the night before Christmas’ poem. The script comprises of 30 parts. The teacher or Teaching Assistants should narrate while the class act it out through mime or dance. Santa is the only speaking part, which could be covered by a teacher too.
The script is extremely adaptable and funny.
The original poem was wordy so it’s been altered slightly, but is sure to bring tears, laughter and Christmassy joy.
6 Scripts included....Have your whole year's assemblies ready to go....no more stressing over every half term.
Links to songs and lyrics included.
Appropriate for year 2 -y 6.
Enjoy your free time!

A lot of these activities are adaptable to be complete independently or at home incase of a local lockdown or virtual learning. They also contain varying abilities which are suitable throughout the key stages.

Fun quiz with 4 rounds short rounds; 1. Lock down facts 2. Name That Celebrity 3.Happy Lock down Stories 4.Photo Challenge.
You can play this on zoom with your children, one round per day or all in one go. You could also use this a welcome back in assembly or with your class. It’s a fun, positive way to talk to the children about how our world has dealt with the current virus.
It was made for 5 primary use but is definitely suitable for secondary also.
Enjoy :)
A social learning story made to read aloud to young kids. Either print in a3 or display as the powerpoint attached. The story is about Bas the Bat who has been hibernating for a long time. When he finally wakens up the world around him is different and scary.
The story is made to help children adjust to beginning nursery, returning to school after a long time or those struggling with the somewhat ‘scary’ Covid life
A fun assembly introducing the Royal Family beginning with Aethelstan the first King of England. It includes 29 speaking parts, 1 song and costume suggestions.
This is a great way to introduce the Coronation of King Charles and a tribute to Queen Elizabeth, but can be used anytime to teach the timeline of the Royal House of Windsor. We used this script for the teaching staff and used one memeber of staff as the narrator. This script is aimed at key stage 2 onwards but as usual can be adapted for younger kids, particularly if the teacher narrates or narrators read from cards.
Hope this saves you some time :)
